Clear View

Walking on Water
The elements have been just right for Fremont Lake to freeze clear.  Travis got a phone call this afternoon from a co-worker informing us that the stars had aligned and that the window of opportunity is
limited. Travis grabbed his new skates and I grabbed my new camera and we headed out.

The weather today was very nice. Even warm for the winter getting up to 30 degrees. I did not have skates but decided to walk out on the ice.  I took this picture looking straight down.  You can see how clear the ice is. You can also see the bubbles frozen in the ice.  I was really hoping that a fish would swim under me, maybe I will go back tomorrow and give it another try.???
This is a shot of Dave. He is one of Travis' co-workers and was kind enough to pass along the clear ice forecast. Dave brought his hockey stick just in case he fell in, he jokingly said that it would help him get out.  I think this picture helps capture how amazing the clear ice was in person.

Travis getting the feel for his new skates.

Travis looked really hard to try and find me a fish.  I thought it was cool how I could see his reflection.

Judging by his smile I think he likes his new skates.
Besides having no neck, I think I am well on my way to mastering the self portrait.  It is a little more difficult with my new larger camera.

I had to add one more looking down at the rocks just so I could show off my new cute shoes.
This one was taken from the furthest distance I dared to walk out.  The amazing range is the Wind Rivers. The longer I am in Pinedale the more I like it. Don't get me wrong, I could never replace Mt. Timpanogas, but the Wind Rivers comfort my soul.
